The York County Genealogical Society of Franco-Americans was formed in 1982 as a non-profit society devoted to the preservation of our rich Franco-American heritage.  The society serves genealogists of French ancestry beginning in France, and continuing through migration to Canada, Acadia and New England.

Our Society maintains a library containing  many volumes of Canadian and American marriages; family genealogies; the Loiselle files; The Moncton files of marriages; the 49 volume Drouin books (indexed by male surnames)and a seperate set of Drouin microfiches (indexed by female surnames) covering marriages for the entire Province of Quebec (from the 1700's to the 1930's)

Our library is housed in the McArthur Public Library, on Main Street in Biddeford, Maine.  Our workshop meetings are held monthly, September through June, on the third Wednesday of every month, from 6 pm-7:30 pm.  Experienced researchers are always available to help newcomers begin their research.

Our Society also maintains a Research Dept.  We will research single marriages, and/or direct lines.  Our rates are reasonable; and all monies collected for research fees will be used to acquire additional research material for our library.

The Society has discontinued our yearly bulletin.
